How much V8 Supercar drivers are there?

Why do v8 supercar drivers tap brake?

  • On the footcam you can see when they are accelerating they sometimes gently tap the brake called a pressure tap or something, why do they do this?

  • Answer:

The basic answer is to control the vehicle on corners. They don't know how much brake they will need as it's coming at them really fast. It's a reaction that has to be there slightly before a corner or curve. Even slight variations in the surface of the track can cause caution taps. There is a delay from what's really happening to how fast your brain interprets what it is seeing, decides and sends signals to your body. These cars are being pushed to their skid limit, so the brake application is tricky at best.
