Air suspension on my truck?

I have a 94 Volvo Semi truck that I use to haul my trailer. Air suspension leveling valve needs changing. How

  • I replaced it myself from another semi at a scrap yard. Without a load on the hitch, what would the rear air bags look like when they are properly inflated? Would they be partially up the plastic sleeve or resting on the bottom? When weight is added to the hitch, will they slide up the sleeve?

  • Answer:

What they look like depends on the maker of the bags. Firestone bags are collapsed a little. When load is applied bags fill to proper height. Any Volvo truck can give you the specs and tell you how to make adjustments. It is fairly easy.
