How do you program the radio in a Volvo s60?

Is it difficult to change a radio in a 2003 Volvo S60?

  • My step-dad says that if I put an aftermarket radio in, that it will screw up the whole electrical system, because Volvos are made differently than other cars. Apparently I would need to have Volvo reset the car so the electrical system works again, but I don't think that just changing the radio will affect anything. I really don't want to put out money by taking it to the dealership, because I just bought a $120 pioneer radio. Any help, would be appreciated, especially if you've changed a radio on a Volvo, or have worked with their electrical systems before.

  • Answer:

Changing a radio in a car is harder then it may look. You can go to best buy and they will install it in there for you. It may need the electrics reset because i recently bought a Mercedes SLK32 where the battery had gone dead and they had to reset the electrics for the radio to work.
