Is the 2002 VW Passat 1.8 L GLS 4dr Sedan Turbo Charged?
-
Just bought a 2002 VW Passat 1.8 L GLS 4dr Sedan and it is an amazing car! I have had 3 4 cylinder cars prior to this one and none of them were nearly as fast or heavy. So I was wondering if anyone knew if this particular model is turbo charged???

Answer:
Yes, your model has a 20 valve turbo charged motor.

you probably have the 1.8T engine, in which case it is. pop your hood and take a look at your engine cover(the big piece of plastic on top of your engine). if it's a turbo, it'll say 1.8T and not just 1.8 but honestly, just because a car is turbocharged doesn't mean that it's faster. your average Volkswagen 1.8T only makes about 155-160hp, whereas an Integra GS-R has a naturally-aspirated 1.8 liter engine that makes 10hp more.
