Are VW beetles bad cars to buy ?

I wanted to buy a VW 2002 used beetle but I keep hearing all these horror stories about trnasmission and the windows breaking and a whole lot of other stuff just wanted to know if it was true Thanx

I have not heard of this. Check the Consumer Reports auto issue for the reliability of such Beetles

Why would people lie about that? I would assume its true. Besides that, they're hella ugly. You could do a lot better for the money.
