What are the Pro's and Con's of a 2000 VW Beetle?

  • Im seriously interested in buying a VW Beetle as my first car. Here's the info on it: 2000 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo. 109,000 miles. White. Very clean. Current inspection. Runs great. Heated leather seats. Front and Side impact air bags. Electric moon roof. New battery. New brakes. Automatic Transmission. Heated leather seats. 6 CD changer. Very fun to drive. Peppy! Runs great, but is being sold as-is. The only 2 things wrong with this car 1) driver side window (electric) does not work and 2) engine "ticks", I don't know why. Sounds like a Subaru! ! And the price of this car is $2200.00 firm, and it does not matter to me how far you've come, or how much you've spent on gas to get to Littleton. I have the clear title in hand. Does this sound like a good car??? and what are the Pro's and Con's of a VW bug? I heard that they are great with gas milage but they are really expensive to repair...

    They are built in Mexico, they are VERY expensive to repair, not worth the money they are not a good car at all. Junk junk junk. Only pro is it's cheap. But you get what you pay for. Don't buy it. I can't stress enough, get a different car. Honda is best.

well the new beetle is not a real beetle its more of a golf in a beetle skin. what do you mean by the engine ticks? fuel economy is considered good i think for us

I wanted one so bad. But ended up with a 2007 Passat and I love it. VW Beetles Pros: Wow - Nice to look at and fun to drive Great on gas So fix the window. Take it to a regular service place, not VW They will want an arm and a let. Forget the ticks for now. Keep it! I would love to have it.
