What amp can I get for my Jetta?

2003 Jetta Speakers issue?

  • so I just bought a 2003 Jetta, from my neighbor, couldnt get a better deal, only bad thing, every speaker is broke, except one tweeter..... :-/ this stinks, I tried taking out the fuse for a few hours, didnt work, I dont know if I need to replace the amp/ head unit, or if I need all new speakers, has anyone else had this problem and what you had to do? I just want an idea of how much its gonna cost.

    I'm impressed, a girl who knows bout amps and HUs lol. I would just get a new HU for $100 or so, and 4 new speakers for bout $120 total...and an afternoon of removing and replacing door panels after installing new speakers...but to be sure, take it to a shop and get their opinion.

I doubt that everyspeaker has blown or otherwise. Is it the standard fit stereo ? You need to remove it and look behind at the "plug in" DIN socket and check the wires. What often occurs with a used car is that someone has "upgraded" the sound system and cut all the wires at the DIN socket, when they sell it on they refit the original radio and then it becomes your problem ! You can buy the DIN lead and join all the wires to preserve what would have been the standard fit. It will cost you about £15 or $25 and a decent competent DIY person will easily sort it out for you.

If you knew every speaker was blown, why did you take the fuse for the radio out? Replace the speakers, go on Crutchfield.com, and start shopping. Also, if you need to know what size will fit, go under 'what fits my car.'

its all the speakers are blown. depending on how you do the fix it can cost any were between 200-idk lol if you get a new system and installed its like 2500... were a pair of speakers is like 150
