What are the seasonal changes in the tundra?

2011 Tundra, when tow/haul mode is selected, what actually changes?

  • there is no obvious difference in shifting etc etc, the owner's manual does not specify

  • Answer:

it changes the shift points in the transmission and quickens the throttle response so that you can stay in each gear longer and have more power while towing. You can type 2011 tundra tow/haul mode ? in the web search box if you need too, but pretty much what I explained is what it does.

Tow/Haul changes the shift points in the transmission so that each gear holds longer. It also quickens your throttle response. The advantage is that if you are hauling a trailer you won't have to shift as often and you'll have a little more power. It also downshifts more aggressively when slowing, using the engine to help slow the truck("engine braking"). - Posted on tundrasolutions.com by truckman261 and truckchampga
