• I am looking at buying a 2002 Toyota Camry, and I just have a question regarding the gas mileage. My last car was a Honda Civic hatchback ('96) and it was amazing on gas! I have the chance of getting this Camry at a very good price, but I don't want to buy it if it's bad on gas. I know this is a slightly larger car, and I definitely need a car with great mileage. I was looking at other Civics, Corollas and Jettas, so how would this Camry compare to these cars in mileage?

  Different class of car. Camry is a mid size famly sedan. Compaired with what you mentioned you will see about 6-8 less miles per gallon. City should be around 22-26 and Highway should be 28-32. Camry competes with the Honda Accord and Volks Passat if you want want a more realistic comparison.
