How many catalytic converters do a 2002 Toyota Camry have?

I'm looking to buy a 2002 Toyota Camry LE, is this price too high?

  • The car is a 2002 Toyota Camry LE, and it has 130,000 miles on it already. The dealership is selling it for $7,999 and I was wondering if it's a good deal. KBB prices it at $9,300. I'm wondering if I'm getting a good deal on this. Especially for a Camry. And what will the drive off the lot price be like after TT&L? Thanks

  • Answer:

Toyotas do last a long time - I just bought one with 93K - but 130K is a lot of miles. Is it the V6 or 4-cylinder? If it's the 4, I don't think I'd buy it - 4-bangers are generally going to be more worn than 6's for the same mileage. Extra charges depend on local conditions. I can tell you, on the 4Runner I just bought from CarMax (base price $20,500), the extra fees came to $862.27 including the dealer fee of $149.

Have the dealer do a Carfax. This will tell you if there has been any major accidents and if thre have been any recalls and how many recalls there have been.
