Your Corolla is said to have steering problems of the kind that make it unsafe to drive over the speed of 55 mph on freeways because thousands have complained that the Corollas steering is too sensitive, and unstable at higher speeds--where you must beep BOTH hands on the wheel all the time or it quickly veers out of your lane. The notice I got from Toyota Walnut Creek (California), states the Corollas included in the recall are 2009-2010. I'll be getting my 2010, that we got last July, done soon, though it has about 7000 miles on it and no hint of throttle problem- it's as smooth as the day it had zero miles on the odometer when I first drove it. I want to add, the steering was a bit twitchy at first, but is a lot more on center now, without the initial wandering. It seems the car has "learned" to hold straight. My wife has driven it to Washington state, to Fernley, Nevada and to Ojai, California, from the SanFrancisco Bay area.

No. The recall only applies to the '09-'10 Corollas. please understand that eventhough Toyota's recalling certain models, not all of those models are being recalled. Only one's with the gas pedal made by one of its vendors. BTW, I have a 2005 Corolla with 128,000 miles on it and my steering is fine.
