What is a Key Matrix?

Toyota matrix 2010, key jams, can't get key out, also cannot turn key to start engine?

Make sure your steering wheel is not locked, try turning it and turning the key at the same time.

Your key lock switch is broken. Ford had this problem about 10 years ago on the Focus and has long ago fixed it. It is the result of poor quality, particularly on a new 2010 Toyota, and there is no excuse for this to happen. It simply means that the ignition switch does not recognize the key, has malfunctioned and the key can not be removed or turned to start the car. Good luck. It may need to be towed.

Is your steering wheel locked? Is the gear shift in park? (applies for automatic) Are you stepping on the clutch?

You may have to get it towed to the dealer. They will pay for the tow, but call them first
