Ontario Insurance rates for a Toyota supra 1995-97 for a 16 year old male?
-
Hello, I am 16 years old and I am thinking about getting a Toyota supra (probably the twin turbo, but at least the v 6 ge engine) for my first car between 1995 and 97. I was wondering what kind of insurance rates I should expect? I have heard about collectors insurance being really cheap, but I dont believe that covers the liability insurance. Remember, the car is right-hand drive, a sports car, I am 16 and a male, I expect the insurance rates to be incredibly high, I just want to know an approximate number. I would appreciate some recommendations as to which broker to use or alternate suggestions! I also understand that I am too young to get collectors insurance on the car, however, I believe that, because it is a different type of insurance, my dad can put himself as the primary driver of the car to save money (he already has a car, but I believe that the insurance company would be fine with him having a "summer car" XD

Answer:
So you are sure that your country will allow you to get the car insurance. If so I don't see any problem for you. You can get the car insurance from wherever you want. But if you want to do it with your father then you have to check that with the insurance company.

I think no matter where you are in the World you will find that insurance on these cars is going to be expensive,i know different people around the World with these cars and pay alot i know where i live iam in the highest group of insurance and my mates whom have Supra's are only two groups below me.

1. It does not have a V6, it has an I6 (Inline-6). 2. Insurance will be just as expensive as insurance for a Porsche so don't expect anything affordable unless your parents make $100,000 per year. Insurance rates can vary widely depending on where you live in Ontario. 3. 95-97 Twin Turbo Supra's cost $25,000(With 150,000+kms) to $50,000(with 50,000+kms) 4. Canada gets lots of cold and snow. Supra is Rear Wheel Drive. Extremely slippery on cold pavement, rain, snow, dirt, grass, gravel, sand. It only has good traction on a hot pavement in summer and thats it. You will not be able to control it and you will crash. I have never heard of a 16-18 year old Supra owner who did not crash their car.
