Are eBay Turbo's Good on Civic?

Are ebay turbos good?

• im thinking about getting a turbo from ebay for my 2009 scion tc its cost 900$ does that mean that it is a bad turbo?

  no ebay stuff. you never know what you will really get... the thing about ebay turbos is they dont match and size everything the way its suppose to be done in a true kit. if you want something good, check out: Ptuning, Descendant, Dezod, Greddy, Turbotoyota's.... pretty much in that order too. those are the best on the market, but Ptunings is the highest rated turbo and the best one, they built it to where you can always upgrade it. Dezod's comes with a AEM tuning system that is a modified Honda tune is not a direct campatable with the tC's computer.... as for it breaking your engine, you dont have much to worry about..... our engine is built to handle power in the 400whp range. and the stock crankshaft will hold well into the 800whp range. Two words... One Name..... Chris Rado.... pushed 530+whp with his turbo tC back in the day with the only internals for the engine being pistons and rods.... the tC will take it. our A/F ratio is tuned out of the factory for a turbo kit. Chris Rado is now pushing a FWD 900+whp tC in Unlimited FWD Class in Time Attack. Ptuning is running their tC in the Modified FWD Class running consistent times with the GTR 35's that are outside its class. Chris Rado's tC is just destroying GTR 35's outside his class. Next is a AWD tC. both Ptuning and Chris Rado are running the factory 2AZ motor, of course they are built, but both ran them hard in the begining. remember the major beating is on the pistons and rods because they take pressure, load and power. a good book to read before getting a turbo kit is: Maximum Boost, by Corky Bell
