They are trim levels. Each has an option that another trim level does not have. Like leather seats or navigation, or brembo brakes, or power seats, or a cd changer. The Performance is fastest around a race track only because its brembo brakes are better than stock brakes. Stop quicker=go faster. All have the same engines, same 0-60mph time, same HP, same top speed, and same handling.

The lightest car win's. Base model with out side air bags manual seats 6 speed manual transmission. All the other Z's weigh more. Powertrain is the same no matter which car you get. Besides your going to want to upgrade the stock brakes to STOP TECH any way. The version with Brembo brakes are expensive to repair.
