How to make a carbon fiber hood?

Why is the nissan silvia s13 hood so hevy ????and how much is a carbon fiber one?

    How would swapping a hood make anything more powerful? No idea where you got that idea. At best, you'll shave about 20 lbs off the weight of your car. This will alter your 1/4 mile time by...oh...maybe 0.05 of a second. Not noticeable at all. And you'll need to replace your hood struts, because the ones you have now, will be too powerful for the carbon fiber. They will break it. And, you need hood pins. The hood is too light, and may fly loose while you're driving it. And in a year, the carbon fiber will distort, and discolor. And look like utter crap. I've had two, from two different companies. They're for show purposes only. If you intend to drive your car, the heat from the engine WILL ruin the hood.

I'm not sure what cars you're use to driving, but the 240sx hood is a lot bigger than a lot of other cars, that's why it feels so much heavier. Carbon fiber hoods usually go for about $500 and like mentioned before, you'll need hood pins to help hold down the lighter hood. A carbon fiber hood isn't going to add any power to your car. You might save on some weight up front but it's not going to be any dramatic change.
