Where is the crankshaft position sensor located on a 2002 dodge intrepid?

2002 Nissan Sentra Spec-V.... Crankshaft position sensor?

• Checked the code when my engine light came on and it threw up the Crankshaft position sensor... I ordered one and it is only $40... when that code comes up does it most likely mean I need a new one? My car still cranks and starts up... and if so what is the general labor to replace it? I know it is on the backside of the block and hard to get to.

• Answer:

  Sometimes you can have oil or dirt on the sensor and that will throw off the signal. Make sure the sensor is clean. Then have the code cleared or just disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and then hook it back up. See if the code comes back. If it does, then get the sensor.
