  first look at the dash at the start up and look for 4x4 idiot light on the dash. (sometime light look like a car with wheels blinking). if you see that light then it is 4x4. if see another switch or level for 4x4 low, high and 2 high then it is regular 4x4. if don't see level or switch for 4x4 then is AWD all the time.
