Where is the 2002 Nissan Altima speed sensor located?

Location of speed sensor on 1996 nissan altima?

  • location of speed sensor on 1996 nissan altima

  • Answer:

Between the axles VSS sending unit is on top of the transmission near the rear of the transmission. But I warn you many times a P0500 code may not be the VSS on the trans but it may be inside the instrument cluster. A correct diagnosis will really help save you money on buying non returnable electronic parts. Good Luck

if your looking for the "pinion asm" which controls the spedo in the dash, that is located on the top right area of transmission. as far as a Revolution sensor (which a lot of people call speed sensors) it depends on weather or not your car has ABS, VDC or any electronic controlled equipment. this part is also located on the transmission remember pinion asm controls the spedo in your dash only....the revolution sensor interfaces with ABS, VDC and other computer controlled equipment... good luck
