What can you tell me about Nissan 300Z Turbos?

  • What can you tell me about them? I see them pretty regularly on Ebay for around $800 and I plan to put a pair on my LS4 Fiero GT. It's more about the concept than functionality but would they be well suited for an engine that big? I don't know a lot about turbos and I plan to use them regardless but what can you tell me about them?

Each individual turbo is sized for amount of flow and boost pressure. A V-8 LS-4? front wheel drive GM (grand prix) motor may have more flow than the 3.0 liter V-6 turbo charger can delever. Instaling small turbos that may only produce boost for a few seconds during acceleration until the over 5.0 liter motor starts moving more air will just cause an exhaust restriction and not much power gain. A properly sized turbocharging system running around 12 to 17 psi over 500+ hp will need a motor rebuild with lower compression pistons and much more fuel, engine oil and water cooling. Better have money re engineering your car will get expensive
