Whats the difference between fairlady 350z and normal?

  • i was interested in getting a nissan 350z, would a japanese import be better? dont get the fairlady part. please help.. thank you.

    The fairlady is the Japanese spec 350z nothing else. It is a bit excessive importing to the UK just for name. Better spending your cash on the Nismo if you can find one.

Datsun/Nissan of Japan released a car called the Fairlady Z. The Fairlady Z was Japans take on sports automobiles. When they did decided to export them to the United States, there's no way in hell the American market would fly selling a sporty car with such a feminine name such as the Fairlady. They were renamed to 240Z , 260Z, 280Z, 300ZX, 350Z, 370Z for the American market. The numerical name each received reflected upon the motor size in liters. 300ZX = 3.0l, 350Z = 3.5l, 370Z = 3.7l

Simple answer: It's called a Fairlady in Japan. Not here. No other difference I know of. The Nissan 350Z IS a Japanese import, I don't think any are manufactured stateside. The only difference is the name. Excellent car, I highly recommend it if you're not 6'4 like me.

Fairlady350z = 350z. With the exemption of a few parts (clear front turn signals instead of orange being one) it would be best to get a Z from where you are at and import the fair ladyZ badge and the various other parts. In short, there isn't a difference.

Fairlady is like the next model of the 350z i believe. Like the iPhone 3G and 3GS, same thing just one is slightly newer and better. The newer one i think is the fairlady, but the newest model from Nissan is the 370z, it's slightly bigger but better in performance.
