2007 Saturn Sky Redline, 2003 BMW Z4 3.0i, 2003 Nissan 350z?

  • Looking at first car will be used from 40-60K miles before i buy it before you shoot any of them down 2007 saturn sky redline 0-60: 5.5 sec 2003 Bmw z4 0-60: 5.4 sec 2003 Nissan 350z 0-60: 5.6 sec I know this isn't all that matters but looking at other specs between the cars the trend goes on not planning on resale so I don't worry about $$$ all cars are in the $14-16K price range used don't really understand all the hate around the Sky? considering its actually from european car manufacturer opel its not your everyday saturn do some research into them youd be surprised at the actual performance of each car

  • Answer:

Its all about personal preference really. I happen to own an 07 350Z which I love. One of my friends has a Pontiac Solstice GXP which is the same thing as the Sky Redline. I really like that little car too. The turbo Ecotec in them is a strong engine that responds very well to mods. It would be easy to make that car fairly quick. The downside to the Sky is space. There is no room for anything in it. My Z definitely has more interior room than the Sky and Solstice, but is more expensive to mod. Each car has its ups and downs. I really don't know anything about BMW's so I can't say anything about the Z4. I just recommend going out and test driving them and seeing what fits you the best.

I would go for the 350Z. It has the most power. 287HP/275 TQ I think from that year. I would look for an 05+ because they get about 300HP on those later models. These cars are fast and still have a lot of potential (turbo). The BMW comes second. Depending on the engine, it could come with 185HP or 225HP. There is a huge power difference. And driving a convertible is quite fun. I just don't like how it looks. However, the BMW brand is appealing... Finally, we come to the Sky. At 260HP turbo inline 4 cylinders, and being a very light weight car, it certainly seems impressive. At the end of the day however, it's still a Saturn. The brand has a bad rep. They are cheap. Flimsy. Made out of cheap molded plastic all around. Pretty much cars that you drive for a little bit then throw away. Saturns are actually GM in disguise.

Sky is cheapest to buy, maintain, insure, fuel, fix, and modify. Also has the newest design. So it is the best choice I think.
