How to replace blower motor resistor on a Nissan Sentra?

Can a failed blower motor resistor, on a 2001 Nissan Sentra, impact the high speed setting?

  • Only the high speed setting, on the HVAC blower, has been operative for a good while. Now, blower output is weak and labored on the high speed setting. The lower speed settings continue to be totally inoperative.

  • Answer:

A bad blower motor with High Amp draw will burn out the resistor and melt the switch too. Replace both motor and resistor before you do damage to the blower switch and car wiring.
