Where does the Gt emblems go on my 95 mustang?

95' Nissan 240 SX SE or 98 Mustang GT Coupe...?

  • I've got $2,000 to work with. I own a 95' Nissan 240 sx se. I love my car rides beautiful, but I crashed it and it need body work and I'd like a new interior since its had a lot of wear and tear but I have also found a 98' Mustang GT Coupe for about the same price. Rides good, interior is clean all I would do is a simple paint job. The paint job on the Mustang would have to wait though. I don't know which way to go. I'm torn. Invest in the 240 or just buy the Mustang. I forgot to mention the 240 has never left me stranded or been in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance.

  • Answer:

what kind of body work is needed, front or rear? if its the front, i say just keep the 240 and convert to a kouki front end (if you have a '95 or '96). probly less or close to 1000 for that. and reupholstry for your interior shouldnt be more than 6/700, unless you can find used-but-clean interior parts locally to swap, then youd spend less of course :] if its rear, go see how much it would cost to fix at a body shop and go from there, or be experimental and try fixing it yourself with bondo and what not. how extensive is the damage? **edit** wow definately stay with the 240 if thats only what is damaged. a bumper, fender, and lights would cost you AT THE MOST 500 locally through craigslist, local forum, or junkyard, and you can swap all those parts yourself with a ratchet, a 10mm socket, and an extension. it took me 3 hours to pull off and replace my COMPLETE front end including bumper support with the help of a friend and 1 set of tools lol. so for you, should maybe be an hour or 2 at best, and youll still have 1500 left over for the interior and what not.

Maybe now that you've had some practice with a low power RWD car , it's time to graduate to something with more power. The 240sx is a great car but very underpowered... try the 'stang.

yr question is complicated yet interesting. what are u looking for in a car exactly? r u looking for speed? power? or the brand? are both cars do have same specs? ok well the mustang has a more powerful engine but nissan is a lighter car and im assuming easier to drive but considering that the framework is damaged and im guessing repairs will be expensive i would go for mustang..us or japan doesnt matter because theyre both quality... and u pay for it... i would go for the mustang logically but you know when you own a car the car becomes your baby so,make the best decision...

u know Nissan is Japanese but mustang from America and American car its better than japanese best choose its mustang ;)

I would have to disagree with almost everyone. For starters a nice 95' 240 se is worth 2,000 easy not even a question. 2nd i would rather have a 240 over a mustang anyday. A simple paint job is also not simple. macco charges 500$ for a crap paint job that isnt worth a ****. A real quality job is around 2-3k itself.

I'd probably stick with the 240SX, but my reasoning would be fuel economy. I'd rather save the money from gas in a Stang and put it in an SR20 for an S14. With frontal damage I'd probably convert to the S15 front end as well.

It might be tough to hear, but a crashed 240SX that needs new bumper, lights, fender and interior is not worth putting $2000 into. It is not even worth $2000 itself. From a practical standpoint, that is not a good investment. Save your money and put it towards a vehicle that does not need so much work. Is the Mustang that vehicle? Maybe, maybe not. You didn't specify the purchase price or how much you would pay to get it painted. I'm just giving you honest advice. I am a Nissan fan and I would never sell my 300ZX... but I don't rely on it as my primary transportation. Even though you may love a car, remember that you will love your next car probably just as much.
