New Nissan 370z? release?

I am going to buy the Nissan 370Z in the future? How high can I bump up the torque?

  • I am an insurance salesman, so, I should be prepared to buy it in cash (and also paired with a trade in), sometime in January or February, depending on how much I make. Now, to the question. The car I REALLY want is the 2010 Nissan GTR. It has a V6 that houses around 450 horsepower. The torque is amazing. It can go 0-60 in exactly 3.2 seconds. However, the sticker price is FAR too high. If I sale well, I make about 16,000 a month. I'd have to put 10,000 dollars in savings for the next 9 months to afford it. What I'm thinking is just "suping" up a 370Z to chissle the 0-60 time down from 4.6 seconds to that of the Nissan GTR. Maybe later on I will trade in the 370Z for the Nissan GTR. Anyways, how would I go about this? I tuned cars in high school, but never THAT much.

You start with a fat wallet, when it comes to putting more horsepower in a car, you need to be able to keep that power IN the motor, or it will end up blowing your turbo's, headgasket, etc etc.. just make sure you always save up a couple grand more than you expect to spend when modifying a car. Having a reliable mechanic handy is key, if you are doing it yourself.

You'll never get a 370Z close to 3.2 seconds without Forced Induction. There are some twin turbo setups coming out for the VQ37 motor - check those out, but you will need to budget $10k+ to add it and have it tuned properly.
