Where is the crankshaft position sensor in maxima 1995?

Crankshaft position sensor replacement?

  • Crankshaft position sensor replacement? how much does it cost to replace a crank shaft position sensor on a 1995 nissan maxima? Thank you

  • Answer:

Located under the crank pulley passengers side crank sensor held in place with two 10mm bolts and one plug can become covered with metal filings (bad crank pulley) grease oil from a leaking crank seal and worse the engine wiring harness may develop a open circuit causing the crank sensor and no start condition. Better have a good auto technician check above and hopefully it is a easy repair. Good Luck

I recently had this replaced on my 2007 Hyundai Elantra and it wasn't very expensive at all (under $100). What cost the most was the labor to have it replaced. If you trust your mechanic then get it done, otherwise call around and ask for prices at other mechanics. Ask friends where they take their cars for maintenance.

the sensor fir my 2004 maxima costs $42 from online nissan store..yours should be cheaper..You have to jack up the car ( a litte bit )..its pretty easy job. Go to gas station mechanic on saturday afternoon ( LOL) , they can do it in less than 30 bucks..
