2008 Nissan altima 2.5s 3500mile cvt problems?

  • I have 2 problem with my cvt first it whines in low speed second when its cold some times when I putt it to D it doesn't move I have change it to N then back to D then it moves or when I travel in 25 to 45 miles the trani slips like there is no transmission in the car I visited a Nissan dealer they have no solution for it just to change the trani for 5200$ what the hell later i showed it to local shop he said it could be for the first problem cvt pulley and for the second tcm , so what u think causing these problems please help , for your info am outside of USA I don't have warranty on the car .

Call Nissan Customer Care. In the USA Power train parts are warrantied for 6 years or 60,000 miles. Some CVT are even warrantied for 120,000 miles. So better question your Dealership or find one with technicians ready to do warranty work. Whine at highway speed is another issue and there is a service bulletin for that. Where outside the USA? Try contacting Sardar Cars Group in Erbil. I wish you the best luck getting another transmission in your car.
