  • What is your opinion of Nissan Sentra 1.8 2004 model about how many miles can you get out of one & with regular routine services as directed by owners manual ?Driving it correctly, no abuse of car, about how many more miles will I go, currently at 110,100..Everything is up to date as far as servicing the car goes.

  • Answer:

Most anything made by Nissan in the last 10 years or so should last you for 200,000 miles or more. We have a 2000 Altima and it has 165,000+ miles on it. We've had to fix things like exhaust stuff and emissions stuff. But, the core engine is totally fine. :)

Should be ok to 200,000 at least, unless that model is known for early failure. Passat was w/ sludge, Subaru 2.5L engines were w/ bad head gaskets. Have that service done only by Nissan, if they'r not too far. Only Nissan will have the TSB's [tech service bulletins], Alerts, Advisories, Memos, Notifications, Service Campaigns, etc, etc.

I own 2 Sentras. 2002 GXE 1.8 with 160K on it, I had to replace the cat at 120K and the head gasket at 140K, but before and after that the car runs great and gets 34mpg... Head gasket and cat on these Sentras are common. Approx repair cost for retail for Cat is about 1,200.00-1,400.00 and for the Head Gasket approx $ 900.00-1,200.00 my other Sentra is a 2006 SE-R SpecV and runs great at 68K good luck
