What is wrong with my stereo?

My car stereo asked for a "code", the wrong code was entered and it now says "off". What should I do?

  • I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage. I made a stop on my way home and when I re entered my car it wouldn't start. Come to find out that the cable to the battery was loose, when that happened it reset the stereo and in return it asked for a code , which I don't have because the car was purchased from JD byrider. The wrong code was entered and now it just says "off" no matter what. What can I do to fix this disaster?

  • Answer:

you have to disconnect the battery from the car again, the way it was before. and then take it to your local mitsubishi dealer where they will give you a codde to unlock your stereo. The reason this happens is because some car burgalers disconnect the battery from the car so they can steal your stereo from your car without the alarm going off. This just makes it impossibe for the person to use the stereo if they succesfully steal it.
