Why does my 99 Honda Civic randomly stall while idle & while driving?

Opinions/reviews on driving a manual 2000+ celica, 97-99 eclipse, and 2000-05 eclipse?

  • I am interested in buying a smaller car. I've narrowed it down to a 97-99 eclipse, 2000-05 eclipse, and a 2000+ celica. I am going to buy a manual and was interested in other people's opinions on how smooth they drive and shift, how easily they stall, comfortability in terms of how far the pedals are and steering wheel. Currently I am driving my brothers 96 honda civic, and in my opinion it stalls really easy and is not a smooth ride. Yes i'm aware its an older car so i know that factors in. Also I am a college student, i'll be driving in town, back country roads, in traffic, on the freeway, flat and hilly roads, etc. From what i have read the eclipse gt (00-05) are really smooth and easy to drive; someone's review said its near impossible to stall to even beginners like me. I am looking to buy these and not just randomly wondering and comparing, so please feel free to include any other information or advice on these cars that i have brought up, all advice is appreciated. Thanks P.S. Please do not waste my time telling me its a girl car or some stupid sh*t like that

  • Answer:

I would get the 00-05 eclipse gt. That has the most torque out of the 3 cars and thus won't stall as easy if you ease out the clutch. Also, they are very fun to drive and smooth shifting. Oh, and as far as the stereotype with eclipses being girl's cars, that doesn't apply if you have the v6 model with a manual. Maybe if you had a 4cyl auto.
