Can anyone help me get the code for my stereo?

Can anyone one help in getting the anti theft code for my 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage car stereo?

  • I had changed the battery on the vehicle, but I had misplaced the code a while back. As you and I probably know that changing your battery doesn't happen that often. So in the time between the first battery change I misplaced the code to reactivate the stereo. I called the dealer and they are charging way too much to give me the code. We owners of this kind of vehicle need to change the battery every now and then as they don't last forever. To me it is just poor service from the dealer, they want me to pull the player out and give them the serial number. Thats just plain ridiculous and then charge me!! Please anyone help...     I would call mitsubishi directly, they are generally quite helpful. I do agree you shouldnt be punished for the loss of a piece of paper - however is it not written in the owners manual somewhere? good luck

Call the dealership and have your vin# number ready for service

you don't need your Vin but you do need to pull the radio and get the serial # off the top of it then go to the dealer with proof of ownership and the serial# and they will get you the code most will not do this over the phone

Hey I had the same problem with mine and like the other guy said u have to pull out your radio and get the serial number and have proof u own the car. No real dealership should charge you b/c u didn't buy it new right? I went to a mitsubishi dealership and they didn't charge me a thing. Call around b/c they shouldn't charge u for the number!
