Where can I get a replacement turbo for my 97 eclipse GST?

Can i just replace the stock turbo on my 97 gst eclipse for anotherone bigger or what do i have to adjust firs

  • i heard something about changing manifolds when you replace the stock turbo for an upgrade!!???

  • Answer:

If it's a t-28 it'll fit directly. If it's a 14b or 16g or many other popular turbos, you have to swap the oil and the water lines. You can piece together the kit yourself or buy it premade. I listed an example below [1]. You don't have to get a new manifold. If you're swapping the turbo you should have the support mods already installed/ready to install. If you don't, you're car isn't taking advantage of the increased flow, and things might go wrong. Like, running lean because of the cfms and limit of the stock fuel system. The "bible" of upgrade paths is listed below [2]. Good luck, hope it goes well!

if u r upgrading to an hks or smthing then u'll have to do some mods..but if it's from the same make..then u'll be ok..it's just what size u choose..how big the turbine..n will ur engine be able maximise a bigger turbine(if not u'll get those damn lag!)..ie..bigger exhaust, wastegate(for higher boost)fuel line+rail..injectors(go for those from evos 510 cc)boost controller..regulators n the most important cooling system of ur engine..
