Best 2012 antivirus for a windows 7 dell desktop?
-
Hey, i would like to know the best overall antivirus. It will probably be the most expensive, I would be willing to spend 50 dollars or so a year if that's at all plausible. I do not know how much antivirus generally cost. But please do let me know the best overall antivirus. Right now I am out of antivirus, I do have advanced systemcare 5 though and CCleaner. I've used avast and avg avira and all free editions I've heard are good. But im tired of installling and uninstalling software. I would like a long term, cheap as possible with a great antivirus, I normally use my computer for runescape, and school work, and youtube if that helps.

Get Microsoft Security Essentials. I use it. It's from Microsoft just for windows so it's very reliable and doesn't use much memory. you can get it free from their site. Best of all, it's free. Save your money from all those expensive software that well eventually end updates and have to buy a new one every year. Hope this helped.

XP, vista, win 7, it don't matter, AV's will protect them all the same. For the price rage you are looking at Coranti. It's a multi engine AV, that has good reviews, you can get it here: http://www.coranti.com/ Here is VB 100's comparison of all the major AV's, Coranti is at the top: http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/latest_comparative/index I also suggest MBAM pro, it's only 25 dollars for a lifetime license: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_pro Sorry bro, crapafee is amoung the worst, get rid of it, here is the direct link to the crapafee uninstall tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Go for comodo AV.
I have tried myself many different antivirus programs over the years. Almost all of them. I think that BitDefender is a good option, because it's not so expensive, it's not heavy for the computer, and it's easy to use. It also includes PC tuning up (Registry cleaner, clean-up, disk defragmenter etc) which is very important if you install and uninstall programs all the time or use internet often.

The best in my opinion is the BitDefender. You can read complete review and ratings here: http://www.softwarereviewsforum.com/threads/37-BitDefender-Internet-Security-2012 Get the BitDefender Security for 1 PC. Complete security software has antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware, anti-malware, anti-spam, etc. Its the best. 1 PC license for an year costs just $24.95 but if you have more PCs, go for the 3 PC one year license.
