Does Anyone know anything about the Ct Towing Law?

Anyone know about the law suit against Mercedes charging dealers for exporting?

  • Anything out there about dealer charge backs because someone exported a Mercedes Benz? I know there are law suits going on but can't locate anything. I also know that dealers are trying to sue customers they THINK exported a vehicle. Anyone have any info on this?

  • Answer:

I'm not familiar with a lawsuit but I do know in Canada a few years ago ( while the Canadian dollar was at an all time low against the US greenback ), if you bought a new Benz at a Canadian Benz dealer you had to sign a contract that you would not export the vehicle for a period of 1 year. This was done to protect the US dealers from Americans buying cheaper cars in Canada. The reverse was true about a year ago. When the Canadian dollar spiked in value and surpassed the US dollar, Canadians were looking across the border for cheaper cars in the US. Many manufacturers told the dealers they could not sell a car to a Canadian citizen in order to protect the Canadian dealers.
