How do you turn off the mute on a mercedes c240?

My 2002 mercedes benz c240 does not turn on.?

• The key does not turn the car over, open and lock doors or open the trunk. The battery was dead,and the car was sitting for a month, I put a new battery on yesterday. Please help me. I don't want to take it to the dealer. I have a trusted mechanic that can do work, if we know what could be the problem. Do we need to have the key reprogrammed, since the car was sitting for a while with a dead battery. shouldn't the key open the trunk, no matter what? I don't think it's electrical, because when the car ran last month, I could lock the doors, open the trunk manually from the inside of the car. is the ignition connected to the remote lock and remote trunk to the remote key.   "I have a trusted mechanic that can do work, if we know what could be the problem." If the mechanic was trustworthy, he should be able to diagnose the problem. I think it's time to find another shop/technician that is more familiar with your W203 chassis Benz.
