Mazda MX-3 KLZE Engine Swap?

• I have a 1994 Mazda MX-3. It has a 1.6L 4 cylinder stock engine. I want to put the biggest possible swap. I've been looking into this more and seems to me that the KLZE is the biggest swap available. My questions are: It said a swap from a 4 cylinder to the KLZE is not recommended, why is that? Is the KLZE (2.5L 6 cylinder) the biggest available swap? Is it possible to put a twin turbo in this swap? What other performance parts will be REQUIRED to make the swap work? What other performance parts will make the swap more powerful but arent exactly necessary? Most importantly, will i need a new transmition? I maybe missing out something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot

  It can be done and the tranny will need to be replaced along with the axles, ECU, engine and tranny mounts, wiring harness and more. This is not a straightforward swap and it will cost you a lot. BTW, twin turboing a KLZE might not be a good idea- if you can even fit it in your engine bay after installing a KLZE. My advice: Look for a BPT engine to go in your MX3. It's the turbocharged version of the 1.8 liter engine used in later MX3s. The engine is already built up internally so you can go to town with a bigger turbo and other goodies. Besides, the KLZE will make your car front- heavy so it handle horribly due to its weight.
