How do I cure night sweats?

Is night sweats a sign of a pending miscarriage?! 9 weeks pregnant, 3rd baby.?

  • I have two other children and never had night sweats with them. I called my doctor and asked because I was worried that maybe I was low on a hormone, but my DOCTOR told me he has NO CLUE what was going on and that it's not a normal thing to happen.. I've been reading online and seeing where a lot of women had night sweats a few days before miscarrying... According to the websites I've found, the cause of night sweats is; as the estrogen level in the body drops, the hypothalamus reacts by directing the brain to heat up the body. That heat results in excess sweating. Because the hypothalamus also regulates your sleep cycles, this occurs most frequently at night. ... .It doesn't sound very good that my pregnant body is DROPPING IN ESTROGEN LEVELS!! I'm scared to death.. has anyone else had night sweats around this time (I'm 9 weeks today) and everything be ok? I'm so confused and can't really find anything about it. It says nothing about it in my pregnancy books... I'm starting to get really worried!

  • Answer:

Actually, for me during all my good pregnancies (read: did not miscarry), night sweats happened.

I've had night sweats this pregnancy and my baby is doing just fine. I have had two miscarriages and neither was preceded by night sweats.
