What are some traditions you do on Easter?

What are your easter traditions?

  • I leave a trail of eggs from each childs bedroom, down the stairs and leading to a big chocolate egg on the table, what are your traditions?

  • Answer:

Just two baskets right now, one for each of them, shared stuff in a pile between. My husband hides the dyed eggs, and the kids go searching for them. Then it's church. I like giving a lamb each year, but this year I forgot. *sighs*

Hiding the eggs outside, or inside depending on the weather, for the children to find. Then after they found their eggs we hide their baskets of goodies inside for them to find. They seem to like it.

When I was little we would dye the eggs the night before and I would wake up the next morning to find a basket on the table and all of the eggs gone then I would go looking for them but when I have my baby I have an idea of what I want to do whe she's old enough I want to have it outside (if the weather is good enough) and hide them out there then play a game with her daddy and maybe my sister and brother or something then curl up on the couch watch a movie and just hang out then go over to my parents house for a ham dinner <3

In the morning, they wake up and they get a hint to find the first egg. Each egg has a clue inside of it and the last clue leads up to their Easter basket. It is something that my parents did with me as a child and I loved it so I did it with my children. Then at around 2:00, we visit family and the kids do an egg hunt.

When I was younger I would go look for the Easter eggs the elders hid but now that I am older I just get together with my friends smoke some weed, have a Barbeque and watch some NBA.

The night before, I hide the eggs around the house (including my husbands!!!) and they hunt for them in the morning. Our garden isn't so much a garden as a patch of concrete so there's nowhere to hide them out there - plus i'm in Wales so it's raining lol. The kids have free reign on eating eggs today - they can eat as many as they want. At around 5/6, my older two took advantage of that and ate til they were sick. Never did it again. Now their eggs last them weeks! My youngest is 5 now, wonder if he will continue the tradition this year?? lol. We then curl up on the sofa and watch a film before having a roast dinner as a family in the evening. Though usually, everybody's too full of chocolate to eat much!!!
