What's the difference between a jeep trektop and a regular soft top?

Whats the main difference between the 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited and the new 2011?

  • i know the colored hard top but what else.. im thinking of getting the sahara or rubicon but i was wondering is it really that big of a difference cuz i wanna get one but i would rather not have to buy a new 2011 one, i want to be able to control my ipod from the gps screen so i can concentrate on driving more than finding a song and getting into an accident. does the 2008 one do that? gimme all the info you got and it would be my first car so i really want to be able to use it for a long time.. does it drive well. i love in utah so the top would stay on for about 9 months in a year.. is the sahara better than the rubicon? i know its less expensive but is there a big difference? thanks!

    i don't think that you can access your i pod on the 08 also they have updated the interior and the painted top along with the diff packages of which they did not offer in 08 so little stuff but in my opinion not worth the diff in price as i am totally satisfied by my 08

The biggest difference is a "more refined" interior. The dash and door panels are more stylist (less rugged looking) and seem to be made of higher quality materials. There is also a high power outlet on the subwoofer housing.
