How do you change the headlight on a Jeep Wrangler?

  • I need detailed directions on how to change the headlight on a 03 Wrangler. It seems easy enough so I want to try to do it myself. It is only the bulb that needs to be changed. Any help would be great!

    Remove the chrome trim that holds the headlight in with a phillips screwdriver(3 screws) and the headlight will fall right out.I think that you have to remove the chrome trim on the grill with a torx bit first.Be careful that you don't turn the adjustment screw,it is a torx screw.

What year is your jeep? that may determine if it's done from the inside of the engine compartment or the front of at the grill.

use a torx screwdriver t-15 to remove the headlight bezel. remove the retaining ring around the head light three screws. do not touch the headlight adjustment screws, the ones that re spring loaded. pull out the headlight and disconnect the wiring hrness/plug. replacement is opposite of removal. consider upgrading to replacement h4 style lights.
