Is Cymbalta addictive?

Cymbalta problems...?

  • I started taking Cymbalta around 4 months ago for anxiety. I first tried taking Zoloft and had an allergic reaction, so I switched so cymbalta at 20 mg because it is an SNRI unlike zoloft. Within days, the anxiety attacks disappeared and have never came back. Since then, I have grown depressed... We decided to raise my dose to 30 mg. Things have been better and Ive felt almost normal for the past week, until today, ive fallen back into depression. Could the depression be caused by the cymbalta? What should i do? I need a medicine for anxiety attacks but i am apparently allergic to ssri's and cymbalta, an snri, might be making me depressed. Thanks in advance

Other answers

30mg is a low dose. Most adults take 60mg. Cymbalta won't automatically make you feel better, it will help you slowly get better. You also need to get therapy and sometimes other meds can be added.
