Is a 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 SE a good reliable car and how much would a new paint job cost?

I personally would go for the Sport instead of the SE. The Sport has the inline 6 and it will last forever. I would also steer clear of the 97's. They were the first TJ model and they can be quirky. 98' and especially 99's are more reliable and have the bugs worked out. I love my 99. I have wheeled the **** out of the thing and it just keeps going and going and going. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I bought it in 2000 with 15,000 miles on it and it now has 107,000 and is still going strong!!!

I have a 97 TJ SE it is a great vehicle its really good on the highway gas mileage wise i get like 18-20 mpg. Its also good offroad.I have had mine for a year i haven't had any major things wrong with it. Mine the exaust studs were broken thats a recall, the gas gage didnt work due to chewed wires. So yes id say they are reliable. A paint job depends on quality if you just want some paint go to macco and get a 299$ job i guess decent quality, Or a body shop would be around 1000-1500 dollars. So yes a Jeep wrangler SE is a good car.

its a prity relieble jeep but u always need to tune it when its time dont drive it when it needs service cuz some parts can get pricy and a new matalic paint well cost 300 and a gloss well cost 250
