Why does my 2005 ford taurus get 16 mpg?

On fuel economy.com, why does a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee get 16 mpg, but it says a 2005-2008 get 15 mpg city?

They do not automatically take off anything as a vehicle ages. The Grand Cherokee was refreshed in 2008. The changes included a redesigned, more efficient 4.7L V8 engine. The EPA also changed the way they calculate fuel economy estimates on all vehicles.
