2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee fuel cutoff relay location and how to reset after accident?

  • I recently got into an accident in my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. I was hit pretty much directly on the rear passenger tire. Other than denting the wheel well there is not really any damage. However, It was enough of an impact to engage the fuel cutoff. I have been told that Jeep does not use a cutoff switch but a computer relay instead. What I don't know is where to locate it or reset it. The Jeep cranks and tries to start but is getting no gas and wont turn over. I have a current going to the spark plugs so its not the fire, its the fuel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

  • Answer:

You need to remove the transmission and then reinstall the engine plates for it to work. If not you need to replace the transmission.
