How To Check Waec?

How to do you check the check engine light on a 1993 jeep grand cherokee?

  • i have a 1993 jeep grand cherokee. The check engine light came on about a month ago for a day then shut off then came back on a few days ago and has been staying on all day today. My question is how to check the check engine light to see what the problem is. There is no port to hook up to a computer to see what codes are being thrown out. i believe the ports to check the check engine light didnt come out until 1995 for the jeeps. With that said i herd about a paperclip trick or something you put in the computer port to help see the problem never herd of it before a buddy told me but he was really vague on it. does anyone know how to check the check engine on a 1993 jeep grand cherokee with no port for the obd? any suggestions or ideas will be much appreciated

  • Answer:

Turn the ignition key on and off a within 5 seconds and the codes will start to flash in the dash panel.

Your pre-OBD2. Your check engine light literally is useless. OBD1 only measures exhaust gasses, so anything to bother fixing it would be new plugs or octane booster. Dont bend your back over for it. My 92 cherokee has a check engine light, but not a single O2 sensor on the exhaust. My light will never illuminate, but for some reason exists on my dash.

Take it to a mechanic who knows what they're doing would be my best guess.
