How can I apply for sign spinning?

My 2004 Jeep Liberty Spun out on a turn and kept spinning then hitting a sign on the side of the road.?

  • well last nite, during heavy rain. I was making a left turn on an intersection, I dont know if pushed the gas a little too hard while turning but all of the sudden i started spinning so fast like 3 times (while i was spinning i was steering the opposite way to reduce spin) then my car got on the curb and ran over a sign, resulting with a flat tire. Thank goodness there was an empty parking lot a couple feet away where i can drive to. So why did my 2004 Jeep liberty Renegade V6 4X4 (automatic) 3.7L spin out? i even had all terrain tires. Should i have set my car to 4X4? I just recently bought this car and dont know how to shift from rear wheel to 4 wheel.

Learn how to drive. And if you would have shifted into 4WD you would have been in more trouble. 4WD will not help you stop, and since you apparently don't know anything about 4WD you should sell your jeep and buy a 2WD car. Turning the opposite way to reduce a skid got you into more trouble. When skidding or sliding turn in the direction of the skid. Your lucky you didn't roll the vehicle doing what you did. The Jeep libertys are notorious for this due to their light weight, and low traction on the rear wheels. When driving in rain or slick conditions don't press on the accelerator so hard, its not a sports car. Tires don't make a difference, knowing how to control your vehicle, and learning how to drive it is what will make a difference. Putting your truck in 4WD would have caused you to have less control of your vehicle because now the front wheels are also turning and pulling you into the skid farther. So its probably a good thing you don't know how to use the 4WD. Here's how to use your 4WD though. With your vehicle you probably have part time 4WD or a combination of both part time and full time 4WD. Either way you can shift into 4WD high part time or full time at highway speeds (I recommend you don't though it will lead to things breaking and wearing out) simply pull up on the lever and your in 4WD, there aren't any manual hubs to turn just the lever to pull. This system should only be used in slick road conditions or offroad use. Never use 4WD on dry pavement.

You don't need four wheel drive in the rain. You just need to accelerate slower and decelerate slower and know how to react when your vehicle starts to spin. Driving more cautiously and having better driving skills would have prevented the accident.

You don't know if you accelerated too hard? There's the answer! A car doesn't spin 3 times,(not even 1) without pushing the pedal too hard, wet or dry conditions. 4 wheel drive has got nothing to do with that.No offence but are you an L or P plate driver? Unless you had a stuck throttle or something?
