My 2005 Honda Accord V6 engine has a ticking/knocking noise?

  • Can you help me determine what the noise is? I have an 05 Accord V6 Auto (33000mi) with a low to medium ticking/knocking noise in the engine mostly at lower RPMS and when the engine is warm. The Honda dealer told me that lots of them do it and not to worry. I have lost several potential buyers because of this noise and would like to figure it out.

Could be low octane fuel or low oil level.

Check the last time you had your oil changed . Honda specifies only 10 30 oil in all there cars and they reccommend there feo oil, its made by Honda and its a high performance, not synthetic, still only mineral oil, but i have actually had simmiliar problems to you with two previous hondas and started useing there feo oil and it fived the problem.

I have the same problem with my Honda Accord. I used to use premium gas but with gas prices now I started to use regular fuel and thats when the engine knocking started. It even says in the back of the car manual the octane level that is suppose to be used.

you puting Premium gas in it ??? if not, put some in with some injector cleaner and get the oil changed (5W 30)
