Why won't my 1993 Honda Civic start?

My Honda civic 1993 won't start..?

  • I just purchased a Honda Civic CX 1993 with an engine of a 2000+ I was driving it out of town recently when i began to notice that i could no longer accelerate in lower gears (3,4). A few days later my car turned itself off in the middle of the road without me stalling, and refused to start. I had my car checked out by a mechanic and the battery was fine and i had just replaced the fuel pump. My mechanic can't quite figure out what is wrong because we cannot find the plug for the computer. Does anyone have any ideas of what it can be/ where that plug is?

    The OBD port is located to the left of your Civic's fuse panel under the steering column; on the driver's side footwell. fuel pump relay? timing belt break?

Your 1993 has no computer port - it is from before OBDII. The most likely reason for the car dying while driving and refusing to restart is a bad igniter, which will show up as no spark. At 18 years it has had a good life - OEM igniters have a life expectancy around 15 years.
