Electrical problem with my 2001 Honda?

A problem with my 2001 honda civic?

  • car sometimes won't start, but then will start later. was at the shop 2 days and they could not find a problem, but said it might be a problem with the battery in my keychain because of the anti theft devise, so they changed it. last night i was stting in my car with it on but not started, the clock flashed off so i tried to start it and no luck. so i hit the keychain lock to see if it was a having a problem, whenever i did, the dash and inside lights would flash on and off several times. abou an hour later, just like always, it started right up.

  • Answer:

when dash lights flash, it indicates that an alarm is working, and you are trying to start the car in an unauthorized way. I think your alarm interferes with starter, or maybe a chip in a lock got worn out. All of the 2001 civics equiped with a microchip inside of a key, to prevent theft. So another possibility that a chip in your keys got damaged.
