Hid lights car?

Do i need an HID kit to have hid lights on my civic or can i just buy the HID bulbs that fit my car?

  • See im trying to get some new headlights for my civic but im not sure if you just buy the right HID bulbs and then you take your old ones off and put the HID's in or if you have to buy an HID kit.

  • Answer:

You will have to buy a kit becasue the HID bulbs pull too much juice (amps) through the stock wires. if you try to use the stock wires you will end up melting the wires. i think a kit should come with a couple of relays and some wire.

Now why would you put HIDS on a piece of sh1 t honda? just buy those blue bulbs and youll be ok... leave the HIDS for the big boys.

If you don't have projectors don't do it. You could blind everyone on the streets because you don't have a cut off.

you will need the full kit. Banbo hids are very very good hids out right now and they are pretty cheap at my shop we sell them for $120 and an extra 20 if you want us 2 put them in

You'll need both the bulbs and ballasts for the car to work properly. The ballast will keep the power to the bulbs, think of them like independent power supplies for each headlight.

You need the full kit with ballasts and bulbs. It is very easy to install. If you have an h4 bulb you can get them w/ low beam and high beam. any other bulb you will lose your high beam unless you buy 2 kits. But you dont need high beams anyways. I put an 8000k hid kit in my 92 hatch and it is bright as hell. No need for high beams
